Upgrading to Windows 10? Beware new ‘Windows Update’.

Picture118Over the years I have been vocal in my dislike for ‘in-place’ Windows Upgrades, preferring to start afresh with a clean build. In the lead-up to Windows 10 release however, I was intrigued to read of an entirely new approach by Microsoft that ‘moved the old operating system out of the way’, rather than installing over the top.

… and so it transpired that soon after release, I upgraded a varied fleet of home and business Window 8.1 computers to Windows 10 with no hassles whatsoever. Impressive.

One little nugget… watch out for the new Windows update. Buried deep in the settings, the default option will allow your computer to act as an update source for any computer on the internet!
